Senior Network Software Development Engineer

Salary: $150,000 - 250,000 per year Requirements:

• We require strong C/C++ programming skills and experience developing high-performance, production-quality software.
• We require a solid understanding of computer networking, including TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, routing, switching, and socket programming.
• We require experience designing and implementing network protocols, congestion control, flow control, and error-recovery mechanisms.

• We are seeking engineers to design and implement a fast data transport product for ML/AI infrastructure systems.
• Design and implement a simple, efficient C/C++ program that reliably transfers files between Linux machines on the same or different networks.
• Support both daemon operation and a simple command-line workflow similar to scp, with an architecture that can be adapted for streaming applications.
• Use UDP for data transfer and implement BBR (V3) congestion control in source code rather than enabling the kernels BBR flag.
• Enable transfers without requiring changes to either machines router or firewall configuration; the task assumes SSH is running and port 22 is open on both networks.
• Keep the solution simple and elegant while prioritizing transfer performance, and be prepared to make or explain modifications and improvements.
