About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Accounting to join their team. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record in accounting and finance, capable of transforming financial complexity into clear priorities and strong execution. This role is pivotal in leading the company's accounting, reporting, and operating discipline, ensuring disciplined accounting, accurate reporting, sound cash management, and strong financial controls. The VP of Accounting will be a senior leader on the finance team, directly overseeing the Controller and related accounting functions, and will be responsible for setting direction, managing a high-performing organization, and partnering with the CFO and executive team on financial governance matters. Candidates for the VP of Accounting position should have a minimum of 10 years' progressive leadership experience in accounting, finance, or related functions, with a strong preference for those with a background in software, SaaS, payments, or other recurring-revenue businesses. The role requires significant experience in financial reporting, management reporting, and core accounting operations, as well as a proven ability to lead and build strong finance and accounting teams. The ideal candidate will have advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills, experience with financial systems, BI tools, and financial-management software, and a background in cash management, treasury, banking, tax coordination, or related financial-risk responsibilities. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, with a CPA and an MBA or other advanced degree being a plus. The VP of Accounting should be a clear and credible communicator, with strong judgment, and a bias toward building better systems and processes.
