Senior Product Manager – Technical The Payment Network Division is seeking a Senior Product Manager – Technical to join the Next Edge program. The role involves defining and delivering product strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for complex technology platforms and solutions, bridging business objectives and technical execution. Responsibilities Understand business needs, market opportunities, and technology trends. Own the vision for one or more features. Decompose business requirements and customer experiences into features and functions that drive the platform/product roadmap. Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives throughout the end‑to‑end product development lifecycle. Work with Technical Program Managers, Software Engineers, and internal customers to define details behind business requirements. Analyze and interpret voice of the customer and product metrics as a feedback loop into the backlog, balancing priorities against new features. Recommend trade‑off decisions on platform product features, depth of features, and backlog items. Own and manage product documentation, ensuring features and associated documentation are clear and consumable by engineering teams. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of Product Management work experience. 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner. Strong Agile mindset with experience driving iterative product delivery and cross‑functional collaboration in a large organization. Proficient at grooming features & user stories, setting entrance/exit criteria, and prioritizing a platform product backlog. Continuously monitor feature development and adjust throughout implementation as needed. Review product demo against acceptance criteria for the feature set. Support and participate in post‑launch reviews, ensuring feedback is reincorporated into the feature. Stay aligned with GTM plans for the feature set. Engage effectively in technical discussions involving distributed and real‑time systems, with knowledge of networking, routing, event‑driven architectures, gRPC, scalability, resiliency, and system performance considerations. Familiarity with payments messages (ISO 8583/20022) is a plus. Identify issues that may prevent platform features from delivering on time or with desired requirements, and collaborate with internal teams and customer service to classify and prioritize issues. Enable self‑service support and/or reduce support overhead. Fully learn the functionality, architecture, dependencies, and runtime properties of the systems involved, including business requirements, use cases, customer experience, back‑office systems, technical slack, interfaces, data flows, maintenance, and support strategies. Understand and explain the business context and associated customer use cases. Recognize discordant views and participate in constructive dialogue to resolve them. Optional: participate with the business in customer research to inform platform product feature needs. Improve team processes that accelerate delivery, drive innovation, lower costs, and improve quality. Verbal and written communication is clear and concise.
