Growing commercial specialty contractor with a national footprint is hiring a Project Manager to join its expanding commercial drywall and metal framing division.

This is an early-career opportunity for someone who already understands the drywall, metal framing, or building materials industry and wants to take the next step into project management. Whether your background is with a drywall/material supplier or you have 1–2 years of experience as an Assistant PM, Project Coordinator, or Project Manager, we’re looking for industry knowledge, potential, and the right fit.

You’ll be trained in our approach to project management while gaining hands-on experience coordinating materials, schedules, field operations, customers, and projects from start to finish. This isn’t a clipboard-and-meetings role. You’ll be close to the work, learning the business from the inside out and building the foundation for a long-term career in construction project management.

Job Details

We are seeking an Entry-Level to Early-Career Project Manager to join our growing Commercial Drywall & Metal Framing division. This role is ideal for someone who already understands the drywall, metal framing, or building materials industry and wants to develop into a well-rounded construction Project Manager.

We are especially interested in candidates coming from commercial drywall/material suppliers who have experience working with contractors, coordinating orders and deliveries, understanding products and materials, or supporting projects from the supplier side. We are also open to Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, or Project Managers with approximately 1–2 years of commercial drywall or metal framing experience.

This is not a Senior Project Manager position. We are looking for someone with the right industry foundation, communication skills, and potential who can be trained in our project management processes and grow with the organization.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate commercial drywall and metal framing projects from startup through completion
Work closely with customers, field teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal operations
Coordinate material procurement, orders, deliveries, equipment, and project logistics
Assist with project schedules, manpower planning, and field coordination
Review project drawings, specifications, scopes, and other construction documents
Support material takeoffs and estimating as needed
Track project budgets, costs, progress, and overall job performance
Prepare and manage change orders, field changes, and project documentation
Attend project and jobsite meetings and communicate updates to key stakeholders
Help identify and resolve issues impacting cost, schedule, quality, or project completion
Monitor safety and quality requirements throughout the project
Develop the skills necessary to independently manage commercial construction projects from beginning to end

Qualifications:

Experience within commercial drywall, metal framing, or a closely related building materials environment
Supplier/distributor experience is strongly encouraged, particularly candidates who understand drywall and metal framing products and work directly with commercial contractors
OR approximately 1–2 years of Assistant PM, Project Coordinator, Junior PM, or Project Manager experience within commercial drywall/metal framing
Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills
Ability to coordinate multiple priorities, deadlines, and moving pieces
Comfortable working between the office, field, customers, and project teams
Strong interest in developing a long-term career in construction project management
Experience reading plans, performing takeoffs, estimating, or coordinating materials is helpful but not required
