Pharmacy Cashier

We are seeking a Pharmacy Cashier to join our team! As a Pharmacy Cashier, you will be receiving incoming prescriptions, checking for accuracy, and inputting that information into our system. You will also be accepting payments for prescriptions, receiving incoming inventory, and answering customer questions and concerns. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, exceptional customer service skills, and prior experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive written and faxed prescriptions from both patients and doctor's offices, verify the information is accurate, and input it into the system as needed
• Maintain proper storage and inventory of all medications in the pharmacy
• Receive incoming inventory, verify the accuracy, log it within the system, and put it away as needed
• Maintain proper pharmacy records, including patient profiles, inventory logs, and more
• Accept payment for prescriptions and small transactions
• Answer phones and handle customer inquiries, referring to the pharmacy as needed
• Greet customers as they come to the pharmacy
• Answer phone calls
• Collect payment and insurance information
• Give orders to customers
• Keep the shelves organized and clean
• Make regular inventory checks

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• The ability to multitask and shift priorities, as needed
• Familiarity with pharmacy and medical terminology desired
• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Cashier or customer service experience, preferably in a medical or pharmacy setting
• Organizational skills
• Familiarity with medical insurance claims

Job Type

In-person; Entry Level; Full Time

Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• Saturdays as needed
• 35-40 hours weekly

Pay Rate

• Bi-weekly
• $13-$15 hourly

Location

Richmond VA Compensation: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
