divh2Providence Center Medical Assistant Float/h2pThe Providence Center Medical Assistant Float will perform routine and higher level administrative tasks to assist physicians, nurses and other clinical staff in effectively accomplishing their medical duties. Maintain cooperative, respectful relationships with Center Staff, local agencies, consumers and the public. The Float Medical Assistant must be able to travel to other TPC department and program sites to cover for other Medical Assistants, as assigned./ppDuties and Responsibilities:/ppMaintain cooperative, respectful relationships with Center Staff, local agencies, consumers and the public./ppWork in cooperation with coworkers and supervisory staff in a constructive manner./ppAccept and benefit from constructive criticism./ppProvide excellent customer service./ppType correspondence for doctors. Ensure typed documents are in proper format, accurate and completed within 24 hours of receipt of request./ppMake copies and/or fax documents for physician in accordance with HIPPA guidelines and TPC policies./ppAbility to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems./ppObtain patient information as directed by physician from other agencies./ppObtain patients laboratory results and recent medication sheet from their PCP./ppObtain vital signs (blood pressure, temperature and weight)/ppFollow-up with Case Managers to assure patients keep their lab appointments./ppSort and distribute diagnostic test results./ppFill out basic information on TDI forms, forward to physician for signature./ppAssist physicians and nurses with medication groups/ppMonitor medication sample closet; review for expired medications. Call drug company representatives as needed and assist in drug disposal./ppMonitor and order urine screen supplies and assist with urine screens./ppAssist clinical supervision and staff as required./ppMedication Requests/Refills/ppProcess medication requests and ensure that all medication requests for the day are completed by end of shift./ppCall pharmacy to refill existing medication per physicians order./ppConduct collateral coordination with primary care physicians as needed./ppAssist with scheduling of tests and treatments as requested by physician (ie: physicals, EKGs, etc.)./ppEnter medical records that need to be pulled for the clients next appointment.
