Lead Intelligence Analyst
$105k - $115kVeterans Security Operations
Job Description
Pay: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
\nJob description:
\nCompany Overview
\nVeterans Security Operations (VSO) is a veteran-based private security company operating throughout Washington State. We take pride in offering competitive pay, strong benefits, comprehensive training, and decades of combined military and security experience. Our commitment to excellence ensures our clients receive the highest-quality security professionals.
\nVSO is seeking an experienced full-time Lead Intelligence Analyst to join our team, producing actionable and forward-looking intelligence to support GSOC operations and client security programs.
\nPosition Overview
\nYou'll own and shape our client's intelligence function as they scale — the person leadership turns to when something happening in the world could touch their people, sites, or operations. Based in the Seattle office (hybrid, with flexibility), you'll lead the majority of day-to-day intelligence output, from routine situational awareness reporting to fast-moving, incident-driven investigations, while also setting the strategy and standards for the program as it grows.
\nThis is a physical security intelligence role. This is not a cybersecurity role.
\nYou'll work primarily in support of our client's US sites while maintaining awareness of global developments (geopolitical instability, supply chain disruption, activism, and other emerging risks) that could impact their people and operations as they expand internationally. You'll partner directly with company leadership and stakeholders, and help guide other analysts as the function grows.
\nThis is a rare opportunity to build and lead an intelligence program almost from the ground up at a mission-driven, high-visibility company in a genuinely novel, fast-scaling industry — with direct access to executive leadership and real ownership over how the function takes shape.
\nResponsibilities
\n- \n
- You'll be the person leadership turns to for recurring intelligence products — weekly and monthly reports, intelligence assessments — that keep them ahead of the evolving threat landscape. \n
- You'll set the standards, methodologies, and quality bar for intelligence products as the function matures alongside company growth. \n
- You'll conduct open-source (OSINT) research to identify, assess, and communicate physical and reputational threats to our client's people, sites, and operations. \n
- You'll lead person-of-interest (POI) investigations in response to incidents — direct threats, concerning behavior — assessing credibility, intent, and potential severity. \n
- You'll develop location assessments and risk profiles for new facilities and sites as the company expands. \n
- You'll track global geopolitical, social, and activist developments — including supply chain and emerging-market risk — relevant to the company's growth and expanding footprint. \n
- You'll produce travel risk assessments and support monitoring for executive and employee travel. \n
- You'll brief company leadership (C-suite), Public Affairs, and Communications directly, translating complex or fast-moving information into clear, actionable recommendations. \n
- You'll coordinate with the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) to ensure timely handoff of intelligence and alignment on emerging threats or incidents. \n
- You'll build strong working relationships across Public Affairs, Legal, Public Relations, Physical Security, and other partners to make sure intelligence products meet their needs. \n
- You'll mentor other analysts within the function and help onboard new team members as the program scales. \n
- You'll serve as a key point of escalation and continuity for the intelligence function. \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- 3-5 years of experience in intelligence analysis, protective intelligence, threat investigations, or a related field (5+ years preferred), including experience leading projects or mentoring other analysts. \n
- Comfortable making direct, evidence-backed assessment statements — including conclusions that carry real potential repercussions — rather than defaulting to summarized or heavily hedged reporting. \n
- Demonstrated experience with OSINT, social media monitoring, and tools such as Dataminr and Factal. \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to turn complex, fast-moving information into clear, decision-oriented recommendations for audiences from company leadership to cross-functional partners. \n
- Strong judgment and comfort operating independently with incomplete or ambiguous information. \n
- Comfort supporting occasional time-sensitive matters outside standard business hours. \n
Preferred Qualifications
\n- \n
- Experience in the utilities or energy sector is not required, but would meaningfully set a candidate apart given the industry this role supports. \n
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (international relations, criminal justice, political science) or equivalent professional experience. \n
- Experience assessing risks related to executive/employee travel and company events. \n
- Familiarity with the intelligence cycle and structured analytical techniques. \n
- OSINT certifications or equivalent training. \n
- Experience with investigative platforms such as Ontic and CLEAR. \n
- Prior experience in a startup, tech, or critical infrastructure environment. \n
- Prior experience building or scaling an intelligence function or leading a small team of analysts. \n
Benefits:
\n- \n
- Dental insurance \n
- Disability insurance \n
- Health insurance \n
- Life insurance \n
- Paid time off \n
- Referral program \n
- Vision insurance \n
Education:

Language:

- English (Required) \n
License/Certification:

- Driver's License (Required) \n
