This distinction reflects our commitment to clinical quality, ethical standards, and measurable outcomes for the children and families we serve.\n About the Role\n The Lead Registered Behavior Technician plays a dual role: delivering high-quality, evidence-based ABA services to children while also serving as the first line of support for fellow RBTs and Behavior Technicians.\n Grounded in the principles of ABA and a family-centered approach, this role improves the lives of children and families while strengthening the team that serves them. As the first level of support for direct care staff, this role fosters a positive, inclusive team culture, promotes collaboration, and drives professional growth. The Lead RBT provides guidance, mentorship, and practical solutions to enhance communication, address staff concerns, and strengthen team cohesion. They help to create a work environment that aligns with the department and organization’s values and objectives, ultimately contributing to the overall success and morale of the team. Grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and a family-centered approach, this role plays a vital part in improving the lives of children and their families. \n Job Functions:\n \n Provides direct ABA services to clients.\n Serves as a first level of support for all direct care staff, ensuring productive relationships among team members.\n Fosters and maintains a positive, inclusive, and cohesive culture within the department.\n Encourages collaboration, professional development, and mentorship among staff.\n Provides guidance, answers questions, and offers solutions to support day-to-day operations.\n Addresses staff concerns and enhances communication within the department.\n Contributes to the overall success and morale of the team by promoting a supportive work environment.\n Monitors fidelity of ABA services and general practices through peer supervision under the direction of the BCBA.\n Communicates feedback and improvement strategies (i.e., modeling, role play, etc.) with RBT following a fidelity check.\n Plans, creates, implements, and delegates activities and training for the ABA Department.\n Completes BST model training with new BTs as outlined in onboarding procedures.\n Completes supplemental RBT training as BCBA/Apprentices and/or R/BTs requested.\n Provides ongoing client-specific training secondary to BCBA/Apprentice’s initial training (including programming, procedures, implementation, and data collection) as directed by BCBA/Apprentice.\n \n Marginal Responsibilities:\n \n In the absence of BCBA/Apprentice, follows coverage procedures approved by BCBA.\n Assists RBTs with credentialing exams as requested by RBT candidates.\n Assists with department-specific annual competencies.\n Updates staff training binder as necessary.\n Participates in interviews for RBT vacancies as needed.\n Answers programming questions when BCBA is unavailable and communicates with the BCBA regarding questions during client sessions.\n Creates grocery list each week for ABA Services.\n Makes visual supports and charts as needed.\n Other duties as assigned.\n \n Competency Requirements\n \n Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-energy environment while effectively multitasking. \n Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. \n Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment and maintain all HIPAA requirements. \n Proficiency with or the ability to learn the organization’s computer processing software and Electronic Medical Record software. \n A commitment to the values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience, and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters. \n Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population. \n Adequate knowledge of applied behavior analysis and behavioral intervention techniques.\n Ability to publicly present information about Easterseals’ Autism and Behavioral services.\n Working knowledge of personal computers and software (MS Office Suite). \n \n Mental Requirements:\n The mental demands described here reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting in order to observe, assess, and interact with clients. \n Ability to utilize a computer, telephone, tablet, and copy machine. \n Frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy. \n Ability to physically implement behavior management strategies including responding to physically aggressive behavior. \n Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff, and others in the workplace continuously. \n Ability to drive to all Easterseals centers and service sites within a 100-mile radius, as needed. \n Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials up to 50 lbs.\n \n Work Environment\n \n Routinely works in office environments with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.\n Community Settings for meetings and direct service activities.\n Client homes for direct service activities.\n Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. \n \n Conditions of Employment:\n \n Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance. \n Must have a valid Illinois Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record. \n Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification. \n Ability to obtain and maintain QBS Safety-Care training certification. \n Ability to maintain active RBT certification status. \n Ability to obtain
