Speech Language Pathologist

Compensation: $125 per day for the first ten (10) days of the assignment; then $150 per day for the remainder of the assignment

General Description: Speech Language Pathologists are expected to provide therapy for students who exhibit special education needs in the areas of language, speech, voice, fluency, and feeding/swallowing in order to help students meet their educational needs.

Qualifications: A valid Illinois Professional Education License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech Language Pathology. ASHA CCC's highly recommended A valid license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations (IDFPR) in the area of Speech Language Pathology Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding special education and speech language pathology including procedures for assessment and treatment of communication disorders Excellent communication and time management skills Ability to case manage speech only students by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, staff, etc. CF applicants encouraged to apply

Duties & Responsibilities: Assess and treat a variety of communication disorders including, but not limited to, articulations, phonology, receptive language, expressive language, fluency, voice, feeding/swallowing, etc. Write and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Work collaboratively with staff to accomplish students' IEP goals Use best practice therapy techniques to assist the students to achieve their goals Maintain sufficient data to support progress and growth of students toward their documented goals Educate teachers, staff, and parents regarding the role of the Speech Language Pathologist Follow and implement specific district policies and procedures Adheres to the ethical standards and codes of the profession and to the established rules, regulations, and laws governing special education Perform other duties as assigned
