Sterile Processing TechAs a Sterile Processing Tech, your exceptional sterilization and processing abilities provide staff with the equipment they need to perform safe and successful procedures.Department: Peri-Operative Location: Clifton Springs Hospital - 2 Coulter Road Clifton Springs, NY 14432Hours Per Week: Per Diem Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays 7 am - 3:30 pm no weekends/ no holidaysAttributesQualifies through one of the following:Credentialed: Successfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam and holds and maintains one of the following credentials:Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician credentialCertified Registered Central Service Technician credentialHard to Fill Clause: A healthcare facility may employ or otherwise contract with a person who does not meet the requirements of the function of a Sterile Processing Technician if they are unable to employ or contract a sufficient number of qualified Sterile Processing TechniciansGrand-fathering Clause: Must provide evidence of employment or contract services as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring between 1/1/2011 – 1/1/2015Strong attention to detail with demonstrated interpersonal and communication skillsResponsibilitiesProcessing. Responsible for processing and supplying sterile goods and equipment to all areas within the hospital, including decontamination, cleaning, packing, sterilizing, storing and distributionSterilization. Ensure appropriate supplies are used in the process of sterilizing items; collect and clean soiled equipment, machines, carts and shelvesDistribution. Transport needed supplies, medication and equipment throughout the hospitalEducation:Licenses / Certifications:CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician - International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM)Physical Requirements:H - Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
