Fitness Specialist - Welliot Rivers Edge Gym - Full Time

Full Time 32 hours a week | Mon/Wed 11AM-6PM T/TH 7AM-2PM or 9AM-4PM (depending on personal training appointments for the day) Friday 10AM-2PM | 185 Queen City Ave Manchester NH inside Elliot Rivers Edge Outpatient facility Welliot Gym. Elliot Fitness Services Elliot Fitness Services consists of 3 centers that include employee and community gym membership, group exercise classes, geriatric specific programming and personal training. We foster a focus of fun and education in our offerings. In addition to promoting overall wellness, our team also specializes in medical fitness programming to meet the needs of our health system patients. About the Job As a Fitness Specialist at Elliot Fitness Departments you will be responsible for assisting clients with educational needs, personal training sessions, teach classes and create fitness programs. You will work with both staff, outside clients and other department programs such as senior fitness programs. What You’ll Do Prepares health and fitness articles for the monthly newsletter publication. Plans, implements, monitors, conducts and evaluates and/or participates in the exercise portion of patient education programs based upon the individual’s exercise prescription. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and all levels of hospital staff as well as related personnel. Exercises creativity in-group and individual exercise program design. Performs fitness testing services. Assists Director with marketing. Assists Director, with evaluations, reporting, data collection, statistics and reports. Assists Director with fitness workshops and speaking arrangements to represent Elliot Hospital. Education and Experience Needs Associate degree in Exercise Science, Health Education or a closely related field; OR equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Educational preparation in Basic Cardiac Life Support required. Prior experience working in a gym setting, providing group exercise classes or providing fitness/exercise programs for seniors preferred. CPR and First Aid certification is required (or must be obtained within 60-days of employment). Group exercise certification preferred.
