DSD Relief Associate – Route Sales / Delivery

Location: Visalia, CA
Pay: $70,304 annually
Schedule: 5:00 AM Start

Position Overview

We are hiring a DSD Relief Associate / Relief Route Sales Representative in Visalia, CA.

The DSD Relief Associate will be responsible for covering open routes, efficiently delivering products to an established customer base, providing excellent customer service, merchandising products, managing route inventory, and identifying opportunities to increase sales.

This position is initially a temporary assignment to cover an employee leave. There is potential for the position to become temp-to-hire based on business needs and performance; however, permanent employment is not guaranteed.

What You'll Do

• Cover open DSD routes and service assigned customer accounts.
• Deliver products to grocery, retail, and other customer locations.
• Upsell products and promote company brands.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with store managers and customers.
• Complete service calls and assist with customer concerns.
• Use a handheld system to enter transactions and manage customer information.
• Place orders and scan/log backstock.
• Manage inventory and balance daily route activities.
• Check in with store decision-makers and receivers.
• Obtain signatures and proof of delivery.
• Collect customer payments when required.
• Unload and move products using carts, pallets, and other equipment.
• Stock products and organize backroom inventory.
• Rotate products and remove defective or out-of-date merchandise.
• Process returns and credits.
• Merchandise shelves and displays to maintain proper inventory, pricing, and date-code rotation.
• Assemble promotional displays, signage, and other marketing materials.
• Maintain clean and organized shelves, displays, and work areas.

What We're Looking For

• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Prior DSD (Direct Store Delivery), route sales, or truck-to-store sales experience preferred.
• Food, beverage, snack, CPG, or retail route experience strongly preferred.
• Sales and upselling experience strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Clean DMV record and ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirements.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily route.
• Basic computer, handheld device, data-entry, and math skills.
• Ability to work an early schedule beginning at approximately 5:00 AM .
• Comfortable with extensive daily driving.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull products weighing up to 50 lbs.

Compensation

$70,304 annually

This is a full-time temporary assignment covering an employee leave, with the potential opportunity to become temp-to-hire based on business needs and performance. Permanent employment is not guaranteed.
