Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Eating Disorders Therapist role located in Fairfax, VA. The position offers all of the flexibility and autonomy of private practice without the marketing, administrative and legal hassle, and plus the community, support and caring of a group of really wonderful professionals. We are a very small practice and have shared values around authenticity, community and lifelong learning and growth. We all have specializations in both disordered eating and trauma. Previous training in these areas is not required and can be provided, but the right candidate must be committed to trauma-informed, anti-diet, all foods fit and health at every size philosophies. Our offices are in Fairfax VA and Friendship Heights MD. We are open to fully in-person, remote or a hybrid model as the clinician preferences and client needs dictate. You create your own schedule. We are looking to hire a therapist to work either remote or hybrid in Virginia/our Fairfax Office. This position is full-time (23 clients) and it is a 1099 position. We are open to any mental health licensure (PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LPC). We are open to interviewing with prelicensed clinicians. Responsibilities The therapist will provide individual and, when appropriate, family or group psychotherapy to clients experiencing eating disorders and related mental health concerns. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting comprehensive intake assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, and maintaining timely, accurate clinical documentation. The therapist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, primary care providers, dietitians, and other mental health professionals, to support coordinated care. Additional responsibilities may include participating in case consultations, attending team meetings, engaging in ongoing training, and contributing to a supportive, inclusive clinical culture. Qualifications Active, unrestricted clinical license (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, PsyD, PhD) in the state of Virginia, or license-eligible with a clear path to full licensure. Demonstrated experience providing psychotherapy for eating disorders and related conditions (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma, body image concerns). Training or familiarity with evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or other relevant approaches for eating disorders. Strong clinical assessment skills, including risk assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Comfort working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and coordinating care with external providers and families when appropriate. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across diverse backgrounds and identities. Ability to manage a full-time caseload, maintain organized and timely documentation, and use electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently. Commitment to ethical practice, cultural humility, inclusivity, and ongoing professional development. Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related mental health field.
