Plant Maintenance Technician I - 3rd Shift (Eligible for up to a $5,000 Sign On Bonus)

Summary: The Plant Maintenance Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. The role involves repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, including motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Diagnosing machine components and determining necessary adjustments or repairs is essential. The position also requires housekeeping responsibilities throughout the shift. Job Description Observes mechanical devices in operation and troubleshoots problems. Dismantles devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, hand tools, and power tools. Inspects used parts to determine dimensional changes, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand or power tools. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Advises the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager of operational problems. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Complies with all safety, health, environmental, and company policies, procedures, and requirements. Performs preventative plant maintenance. Conducts general plant maintenance inspections, diagnoses issues, and performs repairs. Welding and cutting as needed. Maintains, repairs, and cleans MRF equipment, including upper and lower shaker decks, conveyor tunnels, walking floor tunnels, conveyor beds, and head & tail pulleys. Maintains, repairs, and cleans exhaust fans, including air and carbon filters. Required Qualifications 1 year of maintenance and repair experience in a production environment. High School Diploma or G.E.D. Fabrication knowledge (MIG/TIG/Arc/Oxy Acetylene/brazing, etc.). Sufficient working knowledge of plant component repairs and replacements. Ability to troubleshoot and identify electrical and mechanical issues safely and promptly. Compliance with OSHA rules and regulations. Professional conduct in all situations. Valid Class C Driver’s License. Acceptable driver record. Must possess personal tools. Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Must have own toolbox. Preferred Qualifications Trade school certification. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Welder certification. Experience in waste, rock & sand, concrete, or asphalt industries. Physical/Environmental Demands Physical: Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, and smelling continuously. Problem solving, oral and written communication, analytical ability, concentration, exposure to unprotected heights, heavy machinery, and eye/hand coordination. Bending, reaching, stretching, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. continuously. Environmental: Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet slippery surfaces, hot and cold conditions, and noise continuously. Work inside and outside. Hourly Wage: $29.33 - $37.40 per hour + $3.00 per hour Shift Differential. Schedule: Monday – Saturday, 8:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Benefits Competitive wages.
