Our drivers are responsible for safely driving the most efficient route to the job site, while observing and obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations as well as company policies/procedures. They assist in loading and/or securing materials on trucks daily and help unload materials by using crane, conveyor, piggybacks and/or by hand. Gulfeagle drivers are the face of our Company on the jobsite as they lead, instruct, and supervise others. Requirements:

• Valid state CDL Class A or B Driver's License with clear MVR and DOT record
• Must be 21 years old or older
• Must have current and valid Medical Certification Card
• Must have held CDL driving position the previous year with consecutive driving experience
• Must have high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
• Must have the ability to repeatedly lift up to 100 pounds of material for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb
• Ability and willingness to climb on a rooftop and ensure proper stacking (location based)
• Must be able to climb a 40' ladder (location based)
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain the cleanliness of vehicles
• Must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S **Must be able to pass a company required drug screening; all employees are subject to random drug testing per company policy**
• Preferred: Previous material handling a plus Previous forklift experience Certified to operate a crane is a plus

Accountability:

Reports directly to Branch Manager and indirectly to the Regional Manager on branch and personnel issues. Reports indirectly to the Safely Coordinator regarding fleet, safety, and staff.

Job Qualifications:

• Education, Experience, and Licensing:
• Valid state CDL Class A or B Driver's License with clean driving record including:
• Less than three points or one violation
• No DUI or DWI within the last three (3) years
• No revocation or suspension of Driver's License
• Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location.
• Knowledge of roofing material and/or construction and distribution.
• One (1) year of driving experience.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb
• Must lift up to 100 pounds of material continually for up to two hours at a time.
• Ability to work on multi-story building at various heights.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, rain or shine.
• Requires high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to ensure proper delivery while preventing damage to materials and equipment.
• Ability to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle Supply.
• Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner. Tact and diplomacy required in dealing with customer personnel at delivery points.
• Ability to handle all functions of the job in a safe manner.
• Must meet Department of Transportation's physical and medical requirements
• Must pass substance abuse screening; employees are subject to random substance abuse screening under company policy.
