Job Summary
The Neurodiagnostic Technologist I prepares patients for various neurodiagnostic procedures. This position collects patient information pertinent to the interpretation of the tests and determines proper procedures for testing. The position performs age-appropriate activities and utilizes a variety of neurodiagnostic equipment such as electroencephalograms (EEG).
Key Responsibilities:
- Attach electrodes to patients using adhesives and ensure proper placement.
- Conduct tests such as electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), and nerve conduction studies (NCS).
- Monitor patients during tests, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair equipment as needed.
- Collect and summarize technical data for physician review.
- Explain testing procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Assist in training new technicians and other staff members.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED required
- 1+ years of Allied Healthcare or related experience
