Decision Scientist Lead

Job Category: Data Department Overview The Data Solutions team is the unbiased partner to all data trailblazers at Salesforce. This role will lead the team developing data foundation, metrics and insights for Data 360. Responsibilities Thought leader and trusted advisor to T&P leaders, including the General Manager, COO, Product Owners, and other cross‑functional decision makers leading Data 360. Lead a high‑achieving team of analysts, data engineers, and visualization engineers to understand business problems, synthesize data, apply statistical methods to test hypotheses and provide descriptive and prescriptive insights. Develop deep relationships with key partners across the company and coordinate with working teams. Inform product roadmap development and execution for Data 360 product analytics, including releasing data products, dashboards, and other analytical work. Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to establish the roadmap for the team, prioritize impactful work, and guide the team in solving ambiguous and complex problems. Develop the metrics and product insights required for Salesforce to grow Data 360 adoption and consumption. Required Skills 8+ years of experience as a data science or analytics professional with a proven track record of delivering impact through modeling and/or analytics. MBA or Master’s in a quantitative field such as computer science, engineering, economics, applied math, statistics, or similar. Proven experience working directly with senior executive leadership and delivering enterprise‑scale predictive modeling initiatives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence across all levels of the organization. Strong problem‑solving skills and an out‑of‑the‑box mindset. Proficiency in statistics or machine learning, data manipulation, product analytics, and statistical analysis. Expertise in Python or R (PyData stack: Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Statsmodels, scikit‑learn). Mastery of SQL for complex data extraction, feature engineering, and performance tuning within cloud data warehouses. Strategic thinker who simplifies problems and finds creative solutions. Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance workflow. Bias toward action, results, and impact. Willingness to work across a global team and time zones. Benefits & Compensation In the United States, compensation will be determined by location, job level, and experience. The typical base salary range for this position is $172,500 - $260,100 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas, the base salary range is $207,800 - $285,800 annually. The range represents base salary only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
