Associate Software Engineer

Position Summary As an Associate Engineer at Ascensus, you will be working in a high‑energy team, delivering high‑quality software using the best current engineering practices. Curiosity and passion for software development are critical, and you will be empowered with AI capabilities and innovative tools to solve business needs using a rapid development and deployment pipeline focused on AI, automation, and rapid iteration. As a Scrum team member, you will be responsible for delivering solutions that adhere to our software architecture strategy, coding standards, and organizational policies. Video Interview Process As part of the hiring process, candidates are required to complete a video interview assessment within 7 days of receiving the link. The assessment is self‑guided and lasts 40–45 minutes, testing coding skills and collaborative communication. Responsibilities Protect, secure, and properly handle all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, or unapproved disclosure of information. Analyze, implement, test, document, and maintain new and current software applications with minimal oversight to achieve business goals. Assist in estimating and planning throughout the software development life cycle. Support people and process improvement strategies for the organization. Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned. Qualifications Up to two years of full‑time professional experience developing software and systems for small‑to‑medium business environments through internships, co‑ops, or professional experience. Working experience in one or more programming or scripting languages. Experience using Generative AI tools for software development. Understanding of object‑oriented design, data structures, and algorithms. Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for developing software. Experience participating in design discussions with both technical and non‑technical audiences. Familiarity or experience with Agile engineering practices (test‑driven development, continuous integration, pair programming, etc.). Experience in open‑source development. Completion of a video interview assessment within 7 days of receiving the link. Salary and Benefits Salary range: $65,000 to $80,000 base pay.
