Production MachinistThe Production Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating machining equipment, both CNC and manual, to produce precision silicon and germanium components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. This role supports on-time delivery of conforming products while maintaining compliance with ISO quality management system requirements and applicable ITAR regulations.This position is on SWING SHIFT: 3:00pm - 11:30pm; Monday - FridayKey Responsibilities:Perform assigned duties in accordance with documented procedures, work instructions, travelers, and safety requirementsSet up and operate machining equipment (CNC and/or Manual) to manufacture silicon and germanium components to specified tolerancesLoad, verify, and run approved CNC programs in accordance with production documentationPerform in-process inspections using appropriate measurement tools to verify product conformanceMonitor machining processes and make approved adjustments within defined limits to maintain part qualityIdentify, document, and segregate nonconforming product in accordance with established proceduresMaintain part identification, traceability, and status throughout the manufacturing processComplete production and quality records accurately and in accordance with document control requirementsPerform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping in accordance with preventive maintenance and 5S practicesCommunicate production, quality, or equipment issues to appropriate personnel in a timely mannerSupport continuous improvement activities as assignedAdhere to all quality, safety, information security, and ITAR compliance requirementsActively participate in and maintain 5S standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) on the production floor to ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment that supports efficient daily operations.Work Experience & Skills:Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or machinist certification preferredExperience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating CNC and/or manual machining equipment; experience machining materials such as silicon and/or germanium preferredRequired Skills / Knowledge:Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and specificationsExtensive knowledge of CNC and/or manual machining processes, tooling, and fixturingExperience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and quality controlBasic computer skills and familiarity with shop floor data collection systemsPreferred Skills / Knowledge:Experience with Optical curve generators, grinders or shapersExperience programming CNC operationsFamiliarity with ISO 9001 quality management systemsPersonal Attributes:Strong attention to detailCommitment to safety and qualityProblem-solving mindset and mechanical aptitudeReliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environmentWillingness to learn and adapt to process changesWork Environment:Manufacturing floor and/or cleanroom environmentMay involve exposure to industrial equipment, chemicals, and controlled atmospheresPhysical or Operational Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periodsAbility to safely lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodationAbility to wear required PPEAbility to safely handle delicate, brittle, and sharp materials using approved techniquesAbility to work assigned shifts, including overtime as requiredYour Role in the EMS and QMS (including during an Audit):Be familiar with the Environmental and Quality PolicyBe familiar with Environmental and Quality ObjectivesEnvironmental AspectsBe familiar with and follow Emergency Response ProceduresBe familiar with and follow Nonconformance ProceduresBe familiar with and follow Document Control ProceduresBe familiar with and follow Management of Change ProcedureCompliance Statements:Equal Opportunity Employer: Disability/VeteranITAR Requirements: This position may include access to information that is subject to U.S. export controls.
