Job Summary

Sr Director, Domain Chief Architect to define and lead the North Star architecture for the Global Operations domain, spanning the end-to-end data center lifecycle across Design to Capacity, Order to Fulfillment, and Operate to Optimize.

This leader will bridge physical infrastructure, business processes, data, and digital platforms to create an integrated operating model across custom and SaaS solutions. The role is responsible for defining target-state architecture, business capability models, system-of-record strategy, canonical data architecture, integration patterns, and platform roadmaps that enable scale, speed, reliability, and operational excellence.

Equinix is seeking a visionary Senior Director, Domain Chief Architect Global Operations.

Responsibilities

Architecture Strategy & Governance

• Define and maintain the North Star architecture across Design to Capacity, Order to Fulfillment, and Operate to Optimize

• Establish business capability models, architecture principles, technology standards, and multi-year platform roadmaps

• Define system-of-record strategies, canonical data models, integration architecture, and target-state application landscapes

• Lead architecture governance, solution reviews, technology evaluations, and build-versus-buy decisions

• Partner with Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and strategic technology direction

• Enable AI-driven decision intelligence through scalable data, integration, and platform architectures

• Drive data quality, governance, and trusted operational data as foundational capabilities across the Global Operations domain

Domain & Platform Architecture

• Architect capabilities supporting the end-to-end data center lifecycle, including:

  • Capacity planning and management

  • Data center design and engineering

  • Supply chain, procurement, and construction delivery

  • Capacity reservation, allocation, and fulfillment

  • Asset lifecycle management

  • Service assurance and operations management

  • Observability, analytics, and operational optimization

Digital Twin, Data & Integration

• Lead the architecture strategy for an enterprise Digital Twin platform representing facilities, capacity, assets, power, cooling, network, and operational readiness

• Define scalable integration patterns across SaaS, commercial, and custom-built platforms

• Drive simplification of fragmented systems and reduce integration complexity

• Partner with Data & AI teams to establish trusted operational data models, governance standards, and real-time visibility

• Enable advanced analytics, forecasting, automation, and AI-driven operational insights

Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as the principal architecture authority for the Global Operations domain

• Influence technology strategy across operations, supply chain, construction, capacity management, fulfillment, and service delivery organizations

• Build strong partnerships across Enterprise Architecture, Product Management, Engineering, Security, and Business leadership teams

• Mentor architects and engineering leaders while promoting architecture best practices across the organization

Success Measures

• Establish and socialize the North Star Architecture for Global Operations

• Deliver a multi-year architecture modernization roadmap

• Improve integration, data quality, visibility, and operational scalability

• Advance the Digital Twin strategy as a foundational business capability

• Reduce technology complexity and operational inefficiencies across the Global Operations ecosystem

• Enable scalable growth across Design to Capacity, Order to Fulfillment, and Operate to Optimize

Qualifications

Required Experience

• Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred

• 15+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Domain Architecture, Solution Architecture, Platform Architecture, or Digital Transformation leadership

• 7+ years supporting data centers, cloud infrastructure, AI infrastructure, critical facilities, or large-scale operational environments

• Proven experience defining and executing North Star architecture across complex business and technology ecosystems

• Demonstrated success leading enterprise-scale modernization and platform transformation initiatives

Technical Expertise

• Enterprise and domain architecture frameworks

• Integration architecture, APIs, and event-driven systems

• SaaS and custom application ecosystems

• Digital Twin and operational technology platforms

• ERP, procurement, supply chain, and planning systems

• Data architecture, governance, and master data management

• Observability, telemetry, and operational intelligence platforms

• Cloud-native and distributed architectures

Leadership Competencies

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 224,000 - 336,000 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
