Professional - Credit and Collections Analyst

Job Description: North America National Accounts: Analyst - Global Credit & Collections

This credit analyst position on our NA National Accounts team, is part of the WESCO|Anixter Financial Services department located at the legacy Anixter global headquarters in Glenview, IL. Anixter is now part of WESCO Distribution.


In this position, you will be part of a growing team of credit analysts who handle some of the company's largest customers. You will be responsible for the management of an accounts receivable portfolio for a portion of these customers, which will focus on discrepancy resolution, root cause analysis, and initiating process changes to reduce future discrepancies, and ensure timely payment. Extensive training will be provided.


Essential duties:
• Review and release sales orders, following documented requirements for each customer
• Monitor receivable balances to identify disputes and billing issues promptly
• Work with customers to proactively identify discrepancies before invoices are due
• Coordinate with customer accounts payable and internal sales teams to resolve discrepancies
• Work to recognize patterns in discrepancies so that the root cause can be identified, and process changes made to reduce payment delays
• Maintain updated notes on all invoices as required for follow-up reporting & dispute tracking
• Prepare and provide regular customer statements of outstanding receivable balances
• Monitor various reports relative to receivables, cash collections, and invoice discrepancies

Qualifications:
• Related college degree preferred
• Ideal candidate is a dependable self-starter with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to effectively prioritize
• Must be detailed-oriented and organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service skills, with strong oral and written communication required to interact with internal and external customers
• Ability to learn processes and systems quickly, and collaborate with various teams
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Access skills a plus)
