Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVPICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/29/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Jun 29, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 3 Details American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) night shift position at a nationally ranked children\'s hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active IN or Compact RN license. 23-bed Cardiac ICU within a nationally ranked pediatric hospital (#5 in the nation, #1 in the Midwest per USNWR for the past 2 years) Patient population includes complex congenital and acquired heart disease, VAD patients, and heart transplant recipients Staffing ratio of 1:1–2 Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) Every other weekend required Floating required to cardiac stepdown and PICU units, as well as affiliate hospitals nearby Telemetry and ventilator management are core clinical skills for this role Cerner charting experience required EMR: Cerner Requirements Active Indiana (IN) or Compact RN license currently in hand Current BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA or RQI accepted) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required PICU experience accepted; candidates will be trained on CVPICU-specific workflows Proficiency with telemetry and mechanical ventilators required Cerner EMR experience required Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required SSN and DOB required for consideration 2 supervisor professional references required Indiana residents are considered local and are not eligible for this position Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved Current or former IU Health employees must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to work as a traveler Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break before resetting eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break IU Health does not allow Indiana-licensed RNs to work at their facilities in ICU roles (this restriction does not apply to Periop/OR, Allied, or Ambulatory RN travelers) Pay and Title American Traveler Job ID #P-713892.
