BUS DRIVER OPPORTUNITIES

DART First State has immediate job openings for full-time and part-time Bus Drivers to support our Fixed Route operations in New Castle County and our Paratransit operations statewide. Our drivers are responsible for transporting our customers in the safest, friendliest, and most efficient manner possible. DART offers an extensive training program that includes paid training and support for CDL permit holders pursuing their permanent CDL.

Fixed Route Operator

Competitive starting salaries include the following:

• Starting rate of $26.03/hour with progression to $32.54/hour after three years.
• Guaranteed 40-hour work week for full time employees
• Paid training and support for CDL permit holders needing permanent CDL
• Paid on the job training

• Vacation earned by years of service

Paratransit Specialist

Competitive starting salaries include the following:

• Starting rate of $23.97/hour with progression to $29.97/hour after three years.
• Opportunities available in New Castle County, Kent County, and Sussex County
• Guaranteed 40-hour work week for full time employees.
• Paid training and support for CDL permit holders needing permanent CDL
• Paid on the job training
• Great benefits package, including health and pension plan
• Vacation earned by years of service

All applicants must possess or be able to obtain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License or permit w/passenger and airbrakes endorsement; have no more than five (5) violation points on record, be at least 21 years of age. Applicants must be able to pass a DOT physical examination and FTA-mandated drug screen prior to first day of employment. Knowledge of the geography of the county of assignment. Must satisfactorily complete a defined training program.
