The Facility Maintenance Technician I is an entry-level responsible for performing basic maintenance and repair tasks on facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure under supervision. This role assists in ensuring that the facility operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The technician should have basic mechanical/electrical background, a commitment to safety, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of facility-related systems.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Perform basic maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

·         Assist with regular inspections of the building and grounds to identify safety, security, or maintenance issues.

·         Assist in routine preventive maintenance tasks on equipment, systems, and facility components.

·         Help troubleshoot and repair basic electrical systems (e.g., lighting circuits, outlets, breakers) and mechanical systems (e.g., doors, fans, compressors).

·         Help maintain and repair restrooms, breakrooms, office areas, and common spaces.

·         Support production and operations by ensuring facility systems (air, water, gas, compressed air) are functioning properly.

·         Help with monitoring and maintaining inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.

·         Keep accurate records of maintenance tasks, inspections, repairs, and equipment service logs.

·         Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and hazard communication standards.

·         Assist in snow removal, landscaping, and seasonal facility upkeep as needed.

·         Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean facility practices (e.g., 5S).

Qualifications:

·         High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification preferred.

·         0-2 years of facility maintenance or general maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environment.

·         Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and basic mechanical systems.

·         Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical documents (preferred, not required)

·         Familiarity with hand and power tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment.

·         Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance work order systems (CMMS preferred).

·         Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and perform physical tasks as needed.

·         Willingness to wear PPE and follow all site safety protocols.
