Center for Human Development, (CHD), will be hosting a hiring event on Thursday, September 10th, 2026, from 11am-2pm . We are seeking Direct Care staff to work in small residential group home within our DMHAS program located in Chicopee, MA.
Staff will be on-site 24/7 to assist with daily living skills, community integration, medication administration, support for connection and community integration, social and recreation opportunities. Current ratio: 1:1 during all shifts, working with an individual client.
This home was created to provide a positive, supportive environment for individuals with mental health and substance abuse history with the ability to live in the community with assistance. We have three male individuals living in the program in their own apartment. They are diagnosed with Autism, Major Depressive Disorder, Extreme Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Mood Disorder, Psychotic Disorder with Possible Delusions, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Tourette syndrome, Coprolalia, Anxiety, Contamination obsession, PTSD
These diagnoses will translate into behaviors like physical aggression, verbal aggression, infringement of personal space and uncooperative behavior at times. We offer extensive clinical training for this role.
Schedules : Seeking full-time, part-time, and per-diem staff across all 3 shifts. Weekend availability is required.
Pay rate: $22.00/hr.
Requirements:
- Candidates should have a valid driver's license (all drivers under the age of 21 must have 3 years of driving history)
- Willingness to provide personal care to residents served
- Those holding CPR/First Aid and MAP certification a plus
- Cheerful, outward-going personality
- High energy level; self-initiated

- Open, direct interpersonal style; works well as a team member
- Organized; efficient; flexible; Dependable
- Demonstrates patience, caring and compassion
- Performs well under stress and in the event of a crisis
