Empower Lives Through Communication in the Cultural Hub of Philadelphia – Become our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine crafting a future where your role gives voice to countless individuals — literally and figuratively. As a Speech Language Pathologist nestled in the vibrant tapestry of Philadelphia, your impact stretches beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders. You will play an essential role in unlocking potential, restoring self-confidence, and fostering human connections — from guiding little ones as they articulate their first words to empowering seniors to reclaim their independence.
This position presents a remarkable opportunity to work with diverse populations throughout their journey in life, offering a blend of outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support. If your enthusiasm lies with pediatric language development, adult neurogenic communication challenges, or cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for seniors, you will discover a fulfilling and flexible practice right here.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups employing standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
- Create tailored treatment plans addressing both immediate objectives and long-term communication and swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions focused on enhancing communication skills, language clarity, fluency, vocal quality, and swallowing mechanics.
- Engage collaboratively with a dynamic team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to forge comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide education for patients and families, empowering them to support their progress outside of our therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies, ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient experience.
- Maintain accurate documentation that adheres to state, federal, and facility regulations.
- Stay informed on the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and teamwork with peers.
Education Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not holding ASHA certification.
Licenses & Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment commencement.
Required Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based treatments across all age groups, combined with robust knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to tailor therapy approaches to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic contexts.
- Strong clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records while maintaining documentation standards.
Benefits Package
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Flexible scheduling, promoting a healthy work-life harmony.
- Opportunities to delve into specialties like pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.
- Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- Continuing education reimbursement along with professional growth support.
- Collaborative, team-oriented culture dedicated to delivering quality care and fostering lifelong learning.
A Journey That Moves You and Your Career
In this role, your expertise will not only enhance communication but also contribute to a mission that celebrates restoring voices, strengthening bonds, and creating joyful moments through the most profound human interactions: understanding and being understood.
You'll collaborate with like-minded clinicians who treat each other like family, in an environment that deeply values cooperation over competition. Every patient carries their own narrative; we'll entrust you with a vital role in shaping how it unfolds.
