Assistant Professor of Nursing

Job Description Assistant Professor of Nursing – Full‑time, tenure‑track position in the Nursing Department. The role includes teaching, advising, scholarship and service requirements within the ASN programs. The appointment is a 9‑month academic year. Responsibilities Teach in the ASN Program (primary) or in the RN‑BSN program as adjunct. Use student‑learning teaching/learning strategies in classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction. Participate in Department of Nursing and University committees. Ensure student compliance with health requirements. Provide student counseling and advising. Schedule office hours in compliance with University policy. Evaluate student performance in classroom and clinical courses. Develop course schedules and syllabi in compliance with department and University policies. Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing. Two years of clinical experience as a registered nurse. Obtain Certified Nurse Educator credential within 3 years of hire. Active Louisiana RN license or Compact License. CPR certified with documented health compliance as required of nursing faculty.
