Salary Range: $63,000–$83,000
$10,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Candidates

Position Overview

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs and developing individualized nutrition care plans based on medical conditions, age, functional status, and treatment goals.

This individual will work closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure patients receive appropriate nutritional interventions throughout their hospitalization and are provided with the education and resources necessary to support continued success following discharge.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments for assigned patients.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Evaluate patients' nutritional status, medical conditions, dietary requirements, and potential nutritional risks.
• Calculate nutritional requirements and actual patient intake.
• Recommend and assist with the development of therapeutic and specialized diets.
• Monitor patient progress and modify nutritional interventions as clinically appropriate.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Document nutritional assessments, interventions, recommendations, and patient progress accurately and timely.
• Participate in interdisciplinary patient care planning and clinical initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based nutrition practices.
• Provide age-appropriate nutritional care based on the specific needs of the patient population served.

QualificationsEducation

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a closely related field from an accredited program required.
• Completion of an accredited supervised practice program in a healthcare facility, community agency, food service organization, or qualifying combined undergraduate/graduate program.

Licensure & Certification

• Current registration as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) required.
• Current or eligible Nevada Dietitian license required.
• Specialty certifications may be required depending on the patient population or specialty assignment.

Experience & Skills

• Acute care hospital experience is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and medical nutrition therapy.
• Ability to effectively educate patients and families.
• Strong interdisciplinary communication and collaboration skills.
• Computer proficiency and ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Ability to provide appropriate nutritional care across diverse patient populations.
