Private Duty Caregiver – Homestead Health Care (Canton, MI) We are seeking compassionate caregivers to provide physical and emotional support to our elderly clients. Flexible 4–12 hour shifts are available. Responsibilities Use transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit‑to‑stand devices, gait belts, and slide boards. Assist residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and walking. Evaluate changes in client’s health and confer with other healthcare team members as needed. Maintain the cleanliness of the environment, including light housekeeping duties. Use and clean medical devices such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies. Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor. Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities. Follow schedule, assisting residents with repositioning. Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping as required. Complete all required documents and charting. Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritious meals. Provide companionship for the client. Follow all Homestead policies and procedures. Requirements Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience. Experience passing medications. Able to pass a criminal background check. Valid driver’s license and insurance. High school diploma or GED.
