CAD Design Supervisor

This role leads the Engineering CAD Department at a global manufacturing facility in Lebanon, Tennessee, supervising a team of CAD Designers and Operators while supporting new product development, engineering documentation, and the site's CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines team supervision with direct involvement in CAD standards, drawing reviews, and process improvement. Relocation assistance is available.

Full time, onsite at the Lebanon, TN manufacturing facility.

$75,000 to $90,000 base salary per year, plus a bonus target of up to 8.5%. Relocation assistance available.

What You'll Do

You will supervise, coach, and develop a team of CAD Designers and Operators, setting department priorities and assigning design resources across active engineering projects. You will review and approve engineering drawings, 3D models, and documentation, and support Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECR) and the Product Change Process (PCP), while maintaining CAD drafting standards and conducting drawing audits for compliance.

You will serve as the site's CAD software administrator and technical resource, managing the CAD Data Management (PDM) and PLM systems and supporting SolidWorks administration, upgrades, and user training. You will coordinate engineering documentation with Project Engineers and Engineering Managers, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at productivity and design quality. People management responsibilities include assisting with hiring, performance evaluations, and employee development, along with reviewing weekly timecards and supporting departmental budgeting. You will also perform hands-on CAD design work as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in CAD Design, Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical discipline
• 5+ years of professional CAD design experience
• 2+ years leading or supervising CAD Designers or Drafters
• Strong experience using SolidWorks
• Experience managing engineering drawings and documentation
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading a CAD department
• Experience with CAD Data Management (PDM)
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), including SAP PLM
• Experience with engineering change management
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with configuration management and engineering documentation control
• Experience with SolidWorks administration
