Our organization is in search of an innovative and forward-thinking Program Director for our Pediatric Residency Program located in Sacramento, California.

This full-time position comprises 0.5 FTE dedicated to the role of Program Director and 0.5 FTE for clinical practice, which can be in general pediatrics or a pediatric subspecialty. This is a unique chance to lead, innovate, and develop a burgeoning academic program while remaining actively engaged in clinical practice.

As the Program Director, your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all aspects of the Pediatric Residency Program.

• Ensuring adherence to standards set by ABP, ACGME, and institutional guidelines.

• Leading strategic initiatives for resident recruitment, education, and retention.

• Promoting a culture of excellence in teaching, mentorship, and patient care.

• Managing clinical training experiences in both outpatient and inpatient environments.

• Working closely with faculty, hospital leadership, and Graduate Medical Education (GME) administration.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will significantly influence the future pediatric workforce while providing high-quality clinical care alongside residents and faculty.

Qualifications:

• Proven educational and administrative experience recognized by the ACGME Pediatrics Review Committee.

• Active involvement in patient clinical care.

• Understanding of healthcare delivery, administration, and the legal and ethical aspects of healthcare.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented management approach.

• Skill in being persuasive and diplomatic to foster teamwork and cooperation in pursuit of service excellence.

• Strong communication skills and sound judgment.

• Exceptional interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal, with the capacity to build constructive relationships across diverse backgrounds.

• Capability to manage challenging or confrontational situations calmly and equitably.

• Experience in supervising and delegating tasks effectively.

• Aptitude for presenting information clearly and addressing inquiries from various stakeholders.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional literature, technical procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

• Competence in representing the program's interests within the community and maintaining effective relationships with public, private, and professional entities.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Valid California medical license and Board Certification in Pediatrics.

• As required for relevant clinical privileges.
