A Brief Overview
Responsibilities include audiological assessment for children and providing education/instruction to patients, families, and other healthcare providers as appropriate.

Audiologist PRN employees are expected to work a minimum of 2 days per week during the first 30-90 days of employment, until training is completed, and competencies are met.

Thereafter, Audiologist PRN employees must work a minimum of one day per month or at least three days within a 90-day period, unless they are specifically identified as "seasonal", covering for a specific staffing need (i.e., leave of absence or LOA) or if hours are not needed by the department.

Audiologist PRN schedules will be determined on an individual basis, depending upon department needs, clinician skillset/experience, and the need for seasonal adjustments and PRN availability. PRN hours are not guaranteed.

Sites: Primarily Buerger, but may be asked to go to any site where Audiology provides care: Abington Specialty Care Center, Bucks Specialty Care Center, Brandywine Specialty Care Center, King of Prussia Specialty Care Center, Exton Specialty Care Center, Voorhees Specialty Care Center, Princeton Specialty Care Center, Atlantic County Specialty Care Center.

What you will do

• Patient Care
• 1. Evaluation:
• Independently assesses hearing and/or vestibular function through the use of diagnostic tests and other appropriate procedures, in compliance with guidelines set by the department and regulating agencies.
• 2. Documentation and Communication:
• Independently interprets test findings with prompt dissemination of results using professional oral and written communication.
• Aids physicians and other providers in the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral and central auditory disorders.
• Counsels patients and families, as well as other professionals regarding hearing loss and options for (re)habilitation including, but not limited to hearing technology, communication options and educational services through the use of outcomes measures and referrals to appropriate service providers.
• 3. Transfer of Care:
• Facilitates transfer of care to a managing audiologist as appropriate.
• Communicates plan to patients and families.
• Ensures appropriate scheduling of follow-up visit and communicates with other staff as needed.
• Administration
• Maintains productivity and fiscal responsibility in the utilization/provision of services.
• Participates in operational tasks as requested.
• Education/Training and Research
• Maintains/updates professional knowledge and skills by identifying own learning needs and by completing a minimum of 10 clock hours of continuing education during each fiscal year.
• Maintains competencies and knowledge of department policies and procedures, with the support of a Clinical Supervisor.
• Applies research to practice.

Education Qualifications

• Master's Degree Audiology - Required
• Doctorate Audiology - Preferred

Experience Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of licensed experience - Required
• At least two (2) years of licensed experience in a pediatric setting - Preferred

Skills and Abilities

• High level of analytical skill in order to work independently to identify and plan for the resolution of problems encountered in clinical and research duties. (Required proficiency)
• High level of skill in various audiological assessment procedures pertaining to the pediatric population. (Required proficiency)
• Fundamental research knowledge, including a general understanding of research methodology, design, and statistics. (Required proficiency)
• Interpersonal relationship skills to support effective communication with patients and families, as well as other medical professionals. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• Audiology License (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required and
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association - upon hire - Required or
• Board Certification in Audiology - The American Board of Audiology - upon hire - Required
• Audiology License (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Issued through an organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross). - upon hire - Preferred

SALARY RANGE:

$15.00 - $507.00 Hourly
