Pediatric Rheumatology Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Rheumatology Nurse to provide general nursing care to pediatric patients in a clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with EPIC and insurance authorization processes, and will bring their nursing expertise to facilitate optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation, to provide quality care to assigned patients.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given accurately.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Employ critical thinking skills to assess the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients.
• Communicate findings to appropriate healthcare team members effectively.
• Develop and modify specific plans of care based on individual patient needs using evidence-based practices.
• Implement patient care and therapeutic procedures while monitoring and documenting treatment progression.
• Conduct timely reassessments and maintain accurate documentation.
• Demonstrate accountability for nursing research and quality improvement activities.
• Provide evidence-based nursing care and participate in continuous professional development.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Registered Nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Completion of a Nurse Residency Program.
• Six (6) months to one (12) months of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
• Active RN license in good standing in the state of Texas or a compact state, if applicable.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for full-time work, with a schedule of five days at eight hours per day.

Additional Information

The start date for this position is as soon as possible, and it is intended as a backfill replacement for an existing position. Candidates with pediatric rheumatology experience are highly preferred.
