Job Opportunity: Chief of Radiology

Our organization is seeking a Chief of Radiology who will also hold a dual academic position with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). This role reports directly to the Chief of Staff and is tasked with overseeing the administration, management, and leadership of the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Additionally, this position may act as an extension of the Chief of Staff and provide support in their absence.

The medical center features a primary campus along with ten community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs). It operates as a 1a complexity tertiary care VA healthcare system situated in one of the fastest-growing regions for Veterans in the United States. The facility delivers comprehensive healthcare services to over 47,000 Veterans across a 52-county area, which includes Western Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, Eastern Arkansas, and parts of Missouri and Kentucky. The medical center is equipped with 236 inpatient beds, including a 26-bed Spinal Cord Injury Unit, and functions as a teaching hospital that offers a full spectrum of patient care services, cutting-edge technology, and extensive educational and research initiatives.

• Oversee clinical care, including inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic management within the Diagnostic Imaging Service.
• Supervise medical staff, other providers, and trainees in Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Oncology.
• Provide technical guidance and services as needed, fostering professional development through coaching, mentoring, and teaching.
• Engage in high-level decision-making and policy development that influences patient care, collaborating with medical center administration, other Service Chiefs, and interdepartmental supervisors.
• Delegate authority and responsibilities to address patient care needs and align with medical center objectives.

• Salary: Experience-based, ranging from $325,000 to $400,000.
• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
• CME Reimbursement: Up to $2,000 annually (Board Certification required).
• Malpractice Liability Protection: Includes tail coverage.
• Recruitment Incentives: Possible sign-on bonus for highly qualified candidates.
• Annual Pay Incentives: Includes pay increases, performance bonuses, and market pay reviews.

• MD/DO degree.
• Board Eligible/Certified in Diagnostic Radiology.
• Eligibility for a Faculty Appointment at UTHSC.
• Preferred: Three years of leadership experience.
• Must possess a full and unrestricted medical license from any state.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
