You can see some of our favorite projects here.Start your journey with OBE and help us build the future.Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant, Operations is responsible for maintaining the general ledger and ensuring the accuracy of inventory reporting and other financial reporting activities across multiple locations. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process and addresses tight deadlines, while supporting the organization's overall financial integrity and reporting requirements. This individual will be a strategic thinker with a proven ability to get into the details and see tasks to completion.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting & Financial ReportingPrepare journal entries and manage month-end close activities for operational accounting functions.Prepare and maintain account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.Perform income statement flux analyses by comparing actual results against budget and prior year to identify trends and ensure proper classification and coding in accordance with U.S. GAAPPerform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for executive leadershipInventory Accounting & ReportingReview and reconcile Raw, Work in Process, and Finished Goods Inventory for multiple locations across the companyCalculation of Slow Moving and Obsolete Inventory ReservesMaintain reporting for Intercompany In-Transit InventoryReview and reconcile Open Receivers (Goods Received Not Invoiced)Analyze Material Margin Variances at a local level for discrepancies and abnormalitiesCompliance & ControlsSupport and maintain SOX compliance through the execution of required reviews and internal control procedures.Assist with audits and provide requested documentation as needed.Evaluate processes and procedures to recommend, develop, and implement initiatives that will improve accuracy and increase efficiencyQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceExperience2 to 4 years of accounting experienceExperience working with general ledger accounting, inventory/operational accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processesKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesGood understanding of GAAP and accounting principlesExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and positive attitudeAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly ExcelAbility to work a hybrid schedule from the Dallas office 4 days a weekWhat OBE Offers YouBenefits that benefit you – industry competitive benefits at the lowest cost to the employeeWork-life balance – PTO and holidays, including floating holidays you can chooseCompensation that rewards your hard work – A pay-for-performance culture with potential for annual raises and bonusesTraining – We will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope
