Iconic projects like: Smale Riverfront Park (and virtually all park work, playground, Carol Ann's Carousel building, etc. between the Reds' and Bengals' stadiums); iconic water fountain in front of Cincinnati Museum Center; Cincinnati Streetcar (had MANY subcontractors work for us); Serpentine Wall; and work on campuses at the University of Cincinnati, Xavier, Cincinnati State, NKU, & Miami University.

Position Description

Description:

The Senior Accountant is an integral member of the accounting team and will play a key role in supporting the Company's continued growth. This position is designed for an individual seeking long-term career advancement within the organization.

The Senior Accountant will assist with month-end close, project accounting, financial reporting and account analyses while working closely with the CFO on strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will have opportunities for professional growth and advancement into future accounting and financial leadership positions within the Company.

Specific Responsibilities Include :

Work with the Accounting Team in the execution of their essential job functions while demonstrating a positive attitude and strong work ethic including:

• Enter new vendors and maintain existing vendor records.

• Responsible for fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and monthly reconciliations to the general ledger.

• Monitor and review AR and AP aging reports, following up on outstanding items.

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and review cash activity regularly.

• Support Accounts Receivable and Project Management in preparation of AIA billings, T&M billings, and other customer invoicing requirements, as needed.

• Maintain the general ledger and assist with monthly close procedures, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.

• Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, using percentage-of-completion accounting .

• Conduct monthly account reconciliations on balance sheet and expense accounts

• Assist with annual audits, tax reporting, and financial compliance requirements.

• Participate in process improvement initiatives and implementation of accounting best practices, as well as documenting policies & internal controls.

• Provide mentorship and support to accounting team members as opportunities arise.

• Work directly with the CFO on strategic financial initiatives and special projects.

Position Requirements

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.

• CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.

• 5+ years of accounting experience preferred.

• Construction accounting and job costing experience strongly preferred.

• Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting and WIP reporting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Experience with Vista by Viewpoint preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated initiative and desire to assume increasing levels of responsibility.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments.

• Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented construction environment.
