Our Minneapolis medical/surgical float team is an integral part of nursing services within our medical/surgical community and provides valuable resources to the hospital system. Team members apply specific skill sets to four departments and provide additional resources as needs are identified. This approach offers the flexibility of working in different units while learning new skills every day. The float team is extremely knowledgeable, resourceful and flexible with the care they provide and units they support. We value teamwork, open communication, safety and respect. Position Summary: Coordinates and provides family-centered nursing care to infants, children and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members. THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION.

Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Minnesota RN licensure. Current BLS certification. One (1) year experience (within the last 2 years) working with specialized patient population (e.g. Neurosciences, inpatient psychiatry). Pediatric experience preferred. An informational meeting with the Patient Care Manager is required prior to awarding the position. Based upon the unit in which you are applying, additional certification(s) may be required. Department specific required qualifications need to be obtained within 6 months of employment. Current Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification required or obtained during orientation.
