Traveling Quality Inspector Responsibilities Conduct detailed reviews of project drawings and technical specifications to ensure compliance with contract requirements. Developing and managing QA/QC plans, reviewing project documentation, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. Leading coordination efforts including pre-installation conferences, weekly quality meetings, and subcontractor alignment. Conducting on-site inspections and testing (e.g., welds, bolts, pressure tests), overseeing third‑party evaluations, and enforcing corrective actions. Maintaining organized records of inspections, test results, and certifications; verifying qualifications of vendors and installers. Coordinating sampling and testing schedules to avoid delays, collaborating with inspection entities, and supporting project closeout with final quality reporting. Traveling Quality Inspector Requirements Possess adequate visual capabilities including close‑range vision, distance vision, color differentiation, and peripheral awareness to perform essential job functions safely and effectively. Possessing a weld inspection certification (CWI, VT‑Level II, API, etc.) is preferred. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching with hands or arms, and talking are required while performing the duties of this position. Expertise in Mechanical Systems (HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, Sheet Metal) and their associated codes and standards. Capable of periodic travel to job sites and fabrication shops to perform quality‑related tasks as needed. Experienced in welding, brazing, fusing, testing, and examination. Analytical acumen with proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and test results. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement quality control processes and procedures. Showcases strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills. The ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, clients, and other contractors.
