MPI Exeter - AG AssemblerMcWane Plant and Industrial in Exeter, CA, is seeking an experienced Assembler to join our fabrication and machining operation. This position is responsible for the assembly of small and large valves. This includes but is not limited to the assembly of parts, subassemblies, and components, as well as testing, loading/unloading, and palletizing finished products.Scope of Responsibilities1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team membersAssists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environmentWears appropriate PPE, including fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head, and eye protectionResponsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area and maintaining a safe and clean work environmentProactively promotes the McWane Way principlesPrepares work by studying assembly instructions and parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materialsPositions parts and components by using work instructionsVerifies specifications by testing products and visually inspecting qualityAssembles products using hand tools and other equipmentResolves verifiable assembly problems to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources if neededPalletizes and gets product ready for shipment once completeMaintains a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulationsMaintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of suppliesDocuments actions by completing production and quality formsContributes to team effort by accomplishing production requirements as neededRegular full-time attendance is an essential function of the jobAll duties as assignedWork Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controlsThe employee is required to communicate both verbally and in writingOccasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlMust be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsMust be able to meet and adhere to physical requirements as well as adhere to wearing the appropriate PPE (steel-toed/metguard boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection)Must be able to work in dust and fumesWill be required to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demandsMust be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noisesMust have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenanceSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and determine and distinguish colorMust have the ability to operate a forklift and obtain certificationQualifications1-2 years experienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredExperience as a valve assembler or similar in a manufacturing environment is preferredAttention to detailPosition RequirementsStanding, walking, stooping, balancing, kneeling, reaching, and sitting are some of the physical requirementsMust be able to meet and adhere to physical requirements as well as wearing the appropriate PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and mask)Will be required to work in the following conditions: heat, cold, noise, and vibrationMust be able to work in dust and fumesMust have the ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranesPossible overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demandsMust be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noisesMust have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenanceAdditional InformationHourly Rate: $20.00-$22.00Excellent benefits include 9 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays, 3 weeks vacation, a weekly pay schedule, 401k and company health insurance plans, Education Assistance, a Wellness Program, and an Employee Assistance Program.McWane is a Federal VEVRAA contractor, and an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing equal employment opportunity in all employment practices.
