Engineering Technician - Electronics

The Fountain Group is seeking an Engineering Technician - Electronics to support a leading client in Los Angeles, CA. Details for the position below: Engineering Technician - Electronics Location: Los Angeles, CA (100% Onsite) Pay Rate: $33.00/hour Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Duration: 12-Month Contract (strong potential to extend or convert based on performance and budget). Responsibilities Perform functional, parametric, and performance testing on electronic and RF products. Support environmental qualification testing, including thermal cycling, humidity, shock, and vibration testing. Configure test setups and monitor equipment during testing activities. Troubleshoot electronic assemblies at the component, board, and system levels. Read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, assembly drawings, mechanical drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Assist with failure analysis and root cause investigations. Perform precision soldering, rework, and component replacement. Build test fixtures, cables, wire harnesses, and prototype assemblies. Maintain ESD-compliant laboratory practices. Record and organize test results and prepare technical reports. Maintain engineering documentation, laboratory logs, SOPs, and work instructions. Support Engineering and Manufacturing teams with New Product Introduction (NPI) activities. Validate assemblies and test configurations prior to manufacturing release. Qualifications One of the following: High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of electronics, hardware, or RF support experience; OR Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (or related field) with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR Equivalent military electronics training with hands-on hardware experience. IPC Certification Required IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings. Hands-on troubleshooting experience with electronic assemblies and hardware systems. Soldering and electronic rework experience. Experience using electronic test equipment, including: Digital Multimeters (DMMs) Oscilloscopes Power Supplies Other electronic test equipment Strong understanding of electronic components, PCB assemblies, wire harnesses, and mechanical assemblies.
