Locksmith PositionThis position will be responsible for the maintenance of locks, keys and security systems and ensuring that all security devices are in adequate working condition.Responsibilities include:Install, maintain, repair and replace all lock systems for campus buildings, apartments, equipment and propertyCut and issue keys to faculty, staff and studentsInstall cylinders in locksPick lock, change settings of locks, open safes and respond to emergency locksmith needs throughout campusMaintain daily record of time and materials used on projectsMaintain records to accurately reflect key lossesRepair, rebuild and replace glass doors, door closures, floor hinges and other hardwareFollow all safety and other risk management policies in performance of workAttend safety meetingsMaintain, repair and clean tools, equipment and work areasRequired Qualifications:Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalentRequired Experience: Two (2) or more years of related work experienceProposed Salary: $18.12 - $22.21 per hour This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.Required Documents to Attach:ResumeCover LetterSchedule of AvailabilityTwo (2) Professional ReferencesKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:ABILITIES: Consistently exhibit engaging customer service Ability to support various constituencies served by the University Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position Ability to read and understand construction plans and work order instructionsKNOWLEDGE: Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success Extensive knowledge of locks including: design construction installation maintenance operation repair Knowledge of rebuilding all types of locks, locking devices, panic door devices and door checksSKILLS: Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills Experience with operation of locksmith tools, key code systems and door hardware specifications Skill in operating key cutting machines, drill presses, milling machines, and other related equipment and hand tools Attentive to detailApply Before Date: Open Until Filled Application review may begin as early as September 18, 2026.
