Director - Life and Annuities Consulting

Our industry-leading life insurance consulting team is seeking a Manager to join the team in the US to support account development and lead high-performing client delivery teams. In this role, you will work across a range of engagements including financial modeling, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, litigation, pricing, and product development. The ideal candidate will possess proven expertise in various aspects of life or annuity product design and pricing, distribution, financial modeling, asset liability management (ALM), regulatory developments and financial risk. This position offers unparalleled exposure to all facets of life insurance operations and presents exceptional opportunities for upward mobility for motivated, results-oriented professionals.The RolePartner with senior sellers to identify new business opportunities and drive account proposalsLead components of large-scale projects or manage smaller projects to achieve engagement and budget objectivesStrengthen industry relationships through delivering high-quality work, following regulatory updates, involvement with industry-led events, and interaction with clientsOversee and guide junior team members, ensuring high-quality work product which conforms with WTW Excellence standards Share expertise and strategic insights with colleagues to drive team growth and contribute to overall business developmentProvide mentorship and coaching to junior staff, supporting their professional development and career advancement.Conduct thorough technical reviews ensuring high-quality work product which conforms with WTW Excellence standardsSupport client correspondence by playing a lead role in preparing for meetings and written or verbal communications with clients Contribute to the development of intellectual capital to strengthen our service offeringsthrough research, publication of articles, participation in industry events and WTW webinars, podcasts, etc.Support revenue growth by meeting billable hour expectations and assisting in the sales process as part of broader client relationship management teamsMake continuous progress on or maintain professional credentials by utilizing WTW’s competitive student program or completing SOA Continuing Education (CE) requirementsThe RequirementsMinimum 5 years of experience in an actuarial role at a life insurance company, consulting firm, or financial services organizationFamiliarity with regulatory capital regimesExcellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey findings, recommendations, and work products to clients, peers, and junior team membersProven ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audienceDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across different disciplines and work styles, with a willingness to share knowledgeExperience in managing and directing project teams and meeting deadlinesStrong technical proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Microsoft Excel with VBA, SQL, Python, or R) and/or financial modeling software (e.g. GGY AXIS, Risk Agility, MG-ALFA, Moses, Prophet, Slope, or Polysystems)Experience in at least one specific life insurance and/or annuity product lineExpertise in at least one of the following functional areas as applied to the life insurance industry: predictive analytics / data science, experience studies, financial reporting, financial modeling, mergers & acquisitions, product development / pricing and risk managementSelf-motivated, proactive learner with a passion for driving new developmentsAbility and willingness to coach and mentor junior colleagues and foster their professional growthStrong multitasking abilities, effectively managing multiple projects and clients while providing timely updates on project status and deliverablesFlexibility to put in extra effort to meet client deadlines when necessaryFSA or equivalent credential (e.g., FIA) preferredThis position can be based in a major U.S. Market and is open to remote/virtual work.This position will remain posted for a minimum of three business days from the date posted or until sufficient/appropriate candidate slate has been identified.Compensation and Benefits Benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).Compensation The salary compensation range being offered for this role is $150,000 to $220,000.This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
