Bookkeeper

A well-established civil and earthwork contractor based in Rockville, MD is looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a hands-on role within a busy construction environment where accuracy, reliability, and a working knowledge of contractor financials will be highly valued. Responsibilities What you will be doing: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance Process weekly or bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule using QuickBooks Payroll Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis Track subcontractor and vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments Assist with job costing and project-level financial tracking in support of field operations Prepare and organize financial records for monthly and year-end reporting Liaise with external accountants or CPA as needed during tax season or audits Maintain organized and up-to-date financial files in compliance with company procedures Qualifications Three to five years of bookkeeping experience, ideally within a construction or trades environment Required Skills What we are looking for: Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Payroll is required Background in payroll processing and accounts payable is strongly preferred Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial recordkeeping High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Comfortable working independently in a small to mid-sized company setting Preferred Skills Background in payroll processing and accounts payable is strongly preferred Pay range and compensation package Compensation: Competitive compensation commensurate with experience Equal Opportunity Statement If you're a dependable, numbers-driven professional ready to bring your bookkeeping expertise to a grounded and growing contractor, we'd love to hear from you — #J-18808-Ljbffr Centurion Selection, LLC
