Senior Business Analyst

Summary:The Senior Business Analyst will become a Charles River product expert and help to ensure that our software products effectively aid our end users with their trading and front office workflows. In consultation with our financial industry clients and internal product teams, they will utilize business and technical knowledge to improve product performance and competitive advantages.The Senior Business Analyst will work within a specific module of the product and several instrument types (equity, fixed income, derivatives, FX, etc.), participating in the full software development lifecycle and contributing as a member of a feature-focused product development teamThey must be familiar with both financial and technical concepts, with a strong ability to deliver against specific requirements in a timely fashion on a project-by-project basis.Responsibilities:Apply detailed knowledge of business requirements and workflows to assist in product developmentResearch and produce business and technical requirement documentsAnalyze the middle and back-office workflows and produce detailed functional documents.Work directly with customers and product management teams to gather product requirements and develop feature specifications; involvement in all aspects of the software product life cyclePartner with development to help develop, implement, and refine featuresPlan and schedule validation tasks; provide hands-on manual tests; develop verification plans and processesProvide feedback on product performanceReview documentation to ensure accurate and complete documentationProvide client beta testing support and train personnel on capabilities of new product releasesAssist with the management of project schedules and deliverablesAssist implementation and support to troubleshoot, reproduce and resolve escalated client issuesActively participate in the Agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum Methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.Assist with work item creation and tracking in Jira.Participate in integration testing and setup as needed.Work closely with QA, review and approve QA test plans and test results.Coordination with cross functional teams to complete the project on-time and release the product.Requirements:8+ years of software development lifecycle experience, particularly Agile methodologies preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation skillsAdvanced writing skills, including the ability to abstract/summarize highly detailed informationStrong analytical skills, including the ability to reconcile conflicting dataAbility to translate customer business needs into application requirementsStrong technical backgroundExperience with middle office investment management functions including position and tax lot reconciliation.Familiarity with various types of financial instrumentsExperience with MSSQL and ETL tools like Kettle or Talend is a plus.Demonstrated planning and scheduling skillsAbility to independently ramp up and proactively resolve impediments to make progress.Curiosity and interest in financial markets and trading. Demonstrated ability translating business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical product specification documentsKnowledgeable in one or more CRD functional financial areas is strongly desired.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail.,Education: BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or study of Business with an MIS background. MS/MBA degree stronglySalary Range: $110,000 - $188,750 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
