Position Overview
Blue Kangaroo Packoutz of Chesapeake/Norfolk is seeking a Contents Manager to oversee contents restoration operations including pack-outs, cleaning, storage, and pack-back services.
The Contents Manager leads field technicians, manages restoration projects, coordinates with homeowners and insurance adjusters, and ensures contents are handled with care, accuracy, and professionalism.
We restore more than belongings — we restore peace of mind.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Oversee pack-out, cleaning, storage, and pack-back operations
Manage restoration technicians and daily job scheduling
Ensure proper handling and protection of customer belongings
Monitor job progress to ensure efficiency and quality standards
Inventory & Documentation
Ensure accurate inventory and photo documentation of contents
Maintain organized tracking of customer items in storage
Review job documentation for insurance compliance
Support Xactimate-based estimating and billing documentation
Customer & Adjuster Communication
Communicate professionally with homeowners, adjusters, and contractors
Provide job updates and coordinate timelines
Resolve customer concerns and ensure satisfaction
Quality Control
Ensure restoration standards are followed
Verify pack-out accuracy and pack-back completion
Implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
Team Leadership
Train and mentor contents technicians
Enforce safety protocols and company standards
Promote a positive and accountable work culture
Qualifications
Experience in restoration, contents handling, moving, or logistics management
Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Valid driver's license
Experience with Xactimate or insurance restoration estimating is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50+ lbs
Ability to work in restoration environments (fire, water, mold conditions)
Ability to supervise field work and warehouse operations
