The Yard Foreman will oversee a small team of 1-5 members, balancing hands-on equipment operation with supervisory duties to ensure efficient yard operations. This role involves enforcing safety protocols, coordinating loads, maintaining equipment, and managing inventory through traditional manual methods. The Yard Foreman will occasionally visit off-site locations and has opportunities for advancement to operations manager.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a small team to ensure smooth yard operations
• Enforce safety standards and compliance on site
• Maintain and oversee equipment upkeep
• Coordinate load scheduling and inventory control
• Provide training and support to team members
• Develop and manage work schedules
• Communicate effectively across operations and with off-site visits as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in yard management
• Vocational Training or Technical Certificate
• Forklift Operator Certification
• Strong team leadership skills
• Experience ensuring safety compliance
• Proficient in equipment operation
• Inventory management expertise
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Effective time management
