Experience handling Commercial General Liability claims and construction defect experience is highly preferred for this position./ppPrimary Responsibilities:/pulliEvaluates coverage based on the claim report, the insurance policy, endorsements and applicable statutes and case law. Coverage interpretation will be for personal and commercial lines policies./liliPossesses in-depth knowledge of multi-jurisdictional claims handling issues./liliConducts interviews of all involved parties as requested by client. Interviews will be done by telephone or in-person. Statements may be recorded or written./liliCompletes investigations by obtaining and reviewing police and other official reports, hospital records, appraisals and repair estimates to evaluate injuries and property damage./liliObtains medical authorizations to secure records and bills to evaluate injury claims./liliAnalyzes injury information to set case reserves for specific clients./liliNegotiates and settles claims of varying complexity with minimal supervision./liliPrepares settlement letters, coverage and liability denial letters, Reservation of Rights letters and other letters as needed./liliShows appropriate attempts in establishing initial contact. Maintains current follow ups in all files./liliAttends mediations, as needed./liliKeeps the client and the insured informed about the claim status with clear, timely and accurate written/oral communication./liliRecords time and expense charges to clients./liliManages expected caseload./liliSecures/maintains appropriate state adjuster licenses, continuing education requirements and certifications./li/ulpRequirements:/pulliRequires a high school diploma; advanced education beyond high school preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience./liliMinimum of 5 years of Commercial and Personal Liability claims handling experience./liliMust be licensed, or have the ability to obtain license(s), as required by state and local jurisdictions to adjust insurance claims./liliMust have a valid drivers license/li/ulpSkills and Competencies:/pulliAbility to work in a high volume, fast paced environment managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision./liliAbility to provide excellent service to policyholders and clients./liliAbility to efficiently operate a computer and related claims and business software./liliEffective analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to make decisions and resolve conflict with minimal supervision./liliExcellent verbal and written communication skills./liliExcellent attention to detail./liliStrong analytical ability./liliAbility to work independently in a virtual environment when required./liliExcellent organizational and time management skills./liliPossesses a high level of investigation, analysis, evaluation and negotiation skills./li/ulpPhysical Demand Requirements:/ppThe physical requirements associated with the position are limited.
