Snack Bar Attendant

Snack Bar Food PreparerGeneral Purpose: Responsible for preparing food items consistently and adhering to all quality and recipe standards, while maintaining the cleanliness and safety of snack bar area.Duties include but are not limited to:Maintains complete, up-to-date knowledge of all snack bar menu items and their ingredientsMemorizes and utilizes serving portion sizes and basic meal prep procedures used in the snack barMaintains a proper, neat, clean and safe snack bar lineEnsures that the snack bar, all food prep areas, and all food, beverage and dry storage areas meet restaurant sanitation standardsSets up and breaks down work station at the start and end of each shiftCompletes daily opening and closing duties and cleaning according to established side workMaintains fully stocked snack bar line throughout shift according to the current meal periodInspects and cleans food preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practicesEnsures food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters and other equipmentEnsures freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stockMonitors food quality and presentationWeighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipmentPrepares and cooks all menu items as directed promptly and correctly; turns or stirs foods to ensure even cookingFollows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Executive ChefEnsures proper plate presentation and garnish set-up for all dishesPrepares dishes for guests with food allergies or other special requestsOperates cash register and accurately charges Member accounts; collects credit card payments from non-Member guestsMaintains clean and tidy snack bar eating area for Members and guests; clears trash, wipes down tables, refills napkins, condiments etc.Ensures self-service area is well-stocked and tidy throughout the day; refills plastic cutlery, paper napkins, lids, straws, condiments, etc. as neededAssist with special facility events including, but not limited to: holiday brunches, wine dinners, Board and Committee events, Northrop Grumman NCAA tournament, etc.Attend trainings and meetings as required/requestedPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications & Skills:Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plusHigh level of professionalism and attention to detailExcellent verbal communication and organizational skillsAbility to read and comprehend food tickets, memos, correspondence, and special instructionsBasic math skills to calculate food ingredient measurements and meal portionsComfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environmentProblem solving, reasoning, and "thinking out of the box"; ability to apply common sense understanding to better serve our internal and external guests' needsAbility to handle guest complaints and resolve them to satisfactory resultsKnowledge of the principles, procedures, and kitchen and banquet equipment used in the storage, care, preparation, cooking, dispensing, and serving of food in large quantitiesBasic knowledge of food and ingredientsAbility to remain attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to managers and fellow employeesAbility to read, comprehend, and follow all Club policies, systems, controls and proceduresAbility to maintain personal grooming in compliance with appearance standardsAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends, and holidaysInterest in developing culinary skillsExperience & Education: Minimum two years' cooking experience; country club experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredBasic culinary skills and backgroundBasic knowledge of kitchen operations including food storage and food safety requirementsServ-Safe Food Handler certifiedRBS certificationPhysical Requirements: Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, at least eight hoursAbility to walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, and reachAbility to push, pull, carry, and lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basisAbility to move about freely in a two-story kitchen facilityAbility to withstand continuous repetitive motionsPrimarily works indoors; occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions during special eventsMay be exposed to loud noiseWorks with kitchen equipment containing moving mechanical partsMay come into contact with fumes, open flames, hot and cold surfaces, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, sharp knives and other objects
