Associate Director, NPAF Strategy & Program Data Insights

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, NPAF Strategy & Program Data Insights based in the United States.

This highly visible role focuses on turning complex program data into actionable insights that improve patient access and operational performance.
You will help monitor the performance of patient assistance programs, identify trends, and translate data into strategic recommendations for leadership.
The position combines analytics, operational strategy, financial oversight, vendor collaboration, and cross-functional coordination.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external data partners to strengthen reporting, data quality, forecasting, and decision-making.
Your insights will directly support program sustainability, operational effectiveness, compliance, and the patient experience.
The role requires an analytical and collaborative leader who can manage competing priorities while communicating clearly with senior stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

• Program Performance & Analytics: Monitor operational dashboards, KPIs, metrics, and other performance indicators to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring improvement.
• Data Management: Partner with external data teams to develop and refine dashboards, fulfill ad hoc data requests, conduct analyses, and maintain high data quality standards.
• Operational Insights: Lead data review sessions, identify anomalies and performance patterns, and conduct root-cause analyses that translate into practical recommendations for leadership.
• Forecasting & Financial Analysis: Support monthly, year-to-date, and annual product inventory forecasting and variance analysis, helping leadership understand operational and financial trends.
• Budget Management: Assist with operating budget reporting, monitor actuals against expectations, explain variances, and support the development of internal planning and communication materials.
• Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with vendor management teams to create and manage purchase orders, complete monthly accruals, reconcile invoices, and coordinate data-related activities.
• Strategic Reporting: Prepare reports, presentations, training materials, and internal communications that help stakeholders understand program performance and make informed decisions.
• Operational Effectiveness: Develop recommendations to improve program processes, efficiency, and outcomes based on quantitative analysis and operational observations.
• Compliance & Quality: Maintain rigorous quality and compliance standards, promptly escalate issues, and recommend solutions in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
• Program Support: Provide operational support during periods of increased demand, including enrollment or re-enrollment periods, as needed.
• Safety Reporting: Identify and report adverse events through established systems and processes in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate activities across multiple functional groups, build strong working relationships, and influence stakeholders to drive timely and effective outcomes.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree such as an MBA or MHA, or a relevant clinical qualification such as PharmD, RPh, or PA, is preferred.
• Relevant Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience with comprehensive knowledge of patient support services, including benefits verification, patient assistance programs, and specialty pharmacy interactions.
• Patient Services Background: Experience supporting customer service, patient services, or patient assistance programs, particularly with progressive responsibility, is highly valued.
• Patient Assistance Expertise: Previous experience working for a patient assistance foundation is preferred.
• Data Analytics: Demonstrated ability to work with large and complex datasets, identify meaningful patterns, and translate quantitative findings into actionable business insights.
• Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to use data-driven insights to identify operational improvements and support strategic decisions.
• Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with confidence communicating analytical findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
• Influencing & Collaboration: Ability to coordinate across functional teams, build relationships, influence without direct authority, and proactively drive results.
• Organization: Strong ability to multitask and manage deadlines, conflicting priorities, and changing requirements in a demanding environment.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with HIPAA, patient privacy requirements, and other applicable healthcare and regulatory standards.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to take ownership, exercise sound judgment, escalate issues appropriately, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Technical & Business Acumen: Comfortable navigating operational data, dashboards, financial information, performance metrics, and vendor-provided reporting.
