Salary: $101,172–$136,594
$5,000 Sign-On Bonus

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to step into a key leadership role as OB Director with a respected hospital in Houghton, Michigan.

This position offers the opportunity to lead OB services within a Level I Maternal Care and Nursery facility committed to providing personalized, family-centered care. We're seeking a strong clinical leader who can develop staff, drive quality outcomes, and provide the leadership necessary to maintain an exceptional maternal and newborn care program.

What You'll Do

As OB Director, you will provide clinical and operational leadership for Labor & Delivery and related obstetric services. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and develop the Labor & Delivery nursing team.
• Oversee daily clinical and departmental operations.
• Ensure safe, high-quality care for mothers and newborns.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, education, competency development, and performance evaluations.
• Lead performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Monitor patient flow, clinical quality, and departmental performance.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, accreditation, legal, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and hospital leadership.
• Promote evidence-based maternal and newborn nursing practices.
• Support patient and family education throughout the Labor & Delivery experience.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Current BLS-HCP certification.

Strongly Preferred:

• 4+ years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• 2+ years of healthcare leadership experience.
• BSN.
• Previous OB/L&D leadership experience as a Director, Manager, Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator, or Charge Nurse.

Candidates should also have or obtain the following certifications within the required timeframe:

• NRP
• AWHONN-EFM
• AWHONN-POEP
• S.T.A.B.L.E.

Who We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in an experienced Labor & Delivery RN who is ready to take ownership of an OB program and lead from the front.

You should be comfortable developing staff, addressing operational challenges, improving quality and patient safety, collaborating with physicians, and creating a positive environment where nurses can succeed.

A strong L&D Charge Nurse, Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator, or Nurse Manager who is ready for the next step in leadership may be an excellent fit for this opportunity.

Compensation

Base Salary: $101,172–$136,594
